Data Gnome came to us as a newly formed business with little more than a name and a powerful product. The brand needed to feel approachable yet credible β€” sitting comfortably within the SaaS tech space while helping Data Gnome build trusted relationships with its clients.

‍

Our role was to develop, strategize and design their brand from the ground up, shaping every aspect of how they would show up in the market. We tied every decision we made to the results that they wanted to achieve.

Because data retrieval sits at the heart of the platform, we leaned into the metaphor. Like a gnome mining for treasure, on request Data Gnome unearths the right information from inside colossal data sets, delivering it quickly to the user. We created an abstract gnome character built from a custom "g" letterform, its curves forming the face and beard, with a cursor as the gnome's hat.

The result struck the exact balance the client asked for: sharp professionalism with a playful touch of endearing wit.

To set them apart from the sea of purple and blue SaaS competitors, we paired the mark with a bold, distinctive yellow centric color palette. From there, we built out a full brand system; typography, gradients, supporting graphics, and use-case guidelines, giving Data Gnome a confident, cohesive identity ready to scale alongside the business.

‍
The result is a brand that can grow with the business, that cuts through the noise with its bright, playful yet sophisticated tone, and reflects the ingenuity of the Data Gnome platform.
